We are adding three (3) discussion groups. If you are interested in joining, please email cam@camrichardson.com. We are adding discussion group for women, for men, and for both. The discussion groups are for people wanting to discuss relationship issues, parenting issues, and how to improve their own family space. The discussion groups are supportive, available in-person, available on-line, and are not for legal advice and not led by a therapist. The Family Space will provide coaching and facilitation of the group discussions. Each group is limited to six (6) people per group. Prior to a person enrolling in a group, a free consultation will be provided to match each person with a group. Each discussion group is $30 per meeting.
I found one-on-one coaching extremely helpful, but I also wanted to personally hear how other dad's were dealing with their ex while trying to co-parent. I found my ex was trying to interfere with my time with my child and wanted to see how others were dealing with it. So, I asked to join one of the groups. It's hard, but I am learning the best way to deal with nastiness of my ex is to say "send it to me on the parenting app and I'll respond". It isn't how I want to co-parent, but I don't want the stress from my ex. My hope is that the app will calm down the emotions and we will get so we can talk again. I want our child to know mom and dad care enough about me to be civil to one another. Only time is going to tell if my strategy will work, but at least I know I'm not the only person dealing with this.
